With the daylight hours increasing and the beautiful seasonal changes taking place, the photography has been full on lately. It definitely feels like the spring energy is rubbing off on me. In the latter half of February and early March we witnessed the first subtle changes taking place. It felt like a Champagne bottle was being shaken up, then in the last week or so, the cork has been released and it's all exploded into life. The freshness of early spring is a much needed treat on the senses, and it's only going to get better :)

Sadly, the snowdrops in my garden are starting to go over now, however there are still a few healthy ones lying around so I thought I should get out and photograph them before they too fade away. They are definitely a sign of hope and have given me so much joy for the last couple of weeks. Next up are the daffodils, which look like they will bloom in a few days :)
St. Crispin, Northamptonshire 06/03/17 I love this little footpath near where I live, and it's looking lovely at the moment as the blossom starts to emerge. The energy of spring is really kicking in now :)
St. Crispin, Northamptonshire 08/03/17 It was a gorgeous day here in Northamptonshire on Thursday. I headed down to Ravensthorpe Reservoir in the evening to get some sunset shots. Love this place :).
Here are my first ever waxwing shots taken yesterday morning. I was starting to worry that I was going to miss my chance to photograph these beautiful winter visitors, as they'll start flying back to the pine forests of Northern Scandinavia and Russia in the next few weeks. I'm so happy that I got to see them :)
Wootton, Northamptonshire 17/02/17 I really enjoyed our short break to Devon. We had a lovely couple of days out and spent the evenings relaxing with a glass or two of red wine.
We went to the stunningly beautiful Blackpool Sands on the first day and although the weather wasn't great when we first got there, it eventually cleared up and the beach looked amazing in the afternoon sun. We had planned to visit Elender Cove that day too but we enjoyed Blackpool Sands so much we decided to stay there for a bit longer instead. On the morning of the second day we headed down to the small seaside village of Hope Cove before spending the afternoon in Salcombe, enjoying a pub lunch and a walk around the shops. It is a really nice town and the winding streets reminded me a little of Whitby. It would have been nice to spend a few more days down there as It really is a beautiful part of the world and the opportunity to take a nice photo is never far away. We really liked where we stayed so I'm sure we will head back there in the future :) James Can't believe we are into November already. The leaves are really starting to fall now, producing a lovely colourful carpet. It will be a shame when it's all over but what an Autumn it's been so far :)
Denton 01/11/16 I managed to get my first ever kingfisher shots this evening. I was walking along the River Nene yesterday when I spotted one near an old rusty bridge. I decided to go back this evening, set the camera up and waited patiently. After about 25 minutes, the kingfisher perched on a dead tree next to the bridge and stuck around for a good 5 minutes allowing me to get a handful of pictures. I've never seen a stationary kingfisher until this evening... what an absolutely beautiful bird :)
Here are some of my images from the last couple of weeks. Wasn't that brief hot period we had lovely? I was out with the camera and made the most of the glorious blue skies and warm evenings, and also took another early morning trip down to Ravensthorpe Reservoir to take some sunrise pictures which was lovely as ever.
